The Thames Path 100 is a 100-mile point-to-point trail race from Richmond in South West London to the centre of Oxford, following the River Thames along one of England's most iconic long-distance walking routes. With just 1,900 feet of elevation gain across 161 kilometres — ranking 5th-lowest for gain per kilometre among nearly 390 measured trail races in the DiscoverTrailRaces database, and 4th-flattest overall — the TP100 is one of the flattest 100-mile ultras in Europe.
The course follows groomed riverside gravel, paved tow-path, and meadow trail through Hampton Court, Windsor, Henley-on-Thames, and Goring to Oxford's university skyline. The deceptive challenge is duration, not gradient: 30 hours and 161 kilometres of relentless flat terrain, passing royal palaces and English riverside villages. Organised by Centurion Running since 2012 — now in its 15th edition — the TP100 is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier with a 300-place ballot cap. A 50-mile qualifying race completed within 15 hours is required. The 2026 date was 2 May; 2027 dates to be confirmed.
