Ultra Sierra Nevada 40km is the marathon distance of the Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada: 40 kilometres from the village of Queentar in the Granada foothills to Pradollano ski resort (2,100m), climbing 2,400m of officially confirmed D+. At 60m of D+ per kilometre the course ranks 63rd most vertical out of 390 European ultras — only 62 races pack more climbing per kilometre, placing this firmly in the top 16% for elevation density. Course terrain ranks 68th most mountainous in the same database.
The biggest single descent drops 632m at an average gradient of -16.9%. The 2026 edition sold out with high sell-out intensity; the official marathon page caps the field at 450 bibs. Entry was 63 euros (1.58 euros per km) for 2026, with non-federation runners required to add a mandatory 10-euro one-day Spanish athletics license. Parking in Queentar is restricted on race morning and the organiser provides a paid bus service (10 euros) from Granada to the start. Granada airport (GRX) is 30 minutes from Granada city; Malaga (AGP) is 90 minutes and offers more international connections. The race runs in April alongside the 60km Trail, 100km Ultra, half-marathon, and relay distances.
