Coconaut Pomerania Ultra-Trail 42km: Poland's Coastal Forest Ultra, Measured

Moderately challenging — described as the event's second hardest distance after the 100km. The course covers 42km (UTMB-measured 42.50km) with approximately 1,300m of gain, running across the highest ridges of the Kashubian moraine hills via Jelenia Góra, Narożna Góra, and Paraszyńskie Górki. At ~31m of gain per kilometre it sits above average for a 42km trail race. October conditions — cool temperatures, autumn mud, forest trails — add to the challenge.

The Coconaut Pomerania Ultra-Trail is a three-distance trail running event held annually in October in the Kashubian forest near Barłomino, northern Poland. The 42km (PT43) is the shortest and most popular distance — 102 finishers in 2024 — alongside the 65km and 100km. The event is now in its eighth edition (founded 2019), organised by the Coconaut running community.

Approximately 225 PLN (~€52) at the standard rate, valid until October 13, 2026. A 2% PayU transaction fee applies. Race-day registration is available at 250 PLN if spots remain. At €0.96/km it is competitively priced for a UTMB-indexed 42km.

Gdańsk Airport (GDN) is approximately 36 minutes from Barłomino by road, around 20–25 km. The Tricity area (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot) has good rail connections; the last section to Barłomino requires a car or taxi transfer. Accommodation is strongest in central Gdańsk. Free overnight sleeping in a school in Luzino (4.5km from race base) may be available — confirm with organisers.

Gdańsk Airport (GDN) is approximately 36 minutes from Barłomino by road (~25km). Good rail in the Tricity (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot); a car or taxi is needed for the last section to Barłomino. Accommodation is strongest in Gdańsk. Free overnight sleeping in a school in Luzino (4.5km from base, Friday 20:00–Saturday 08:00) is available with advance email registration.
