Blefjells Beste is a 96km / 3,400m D+ mountain ultra held each July in the Blefjell massif, Buskerud, Norway. The race starts at 22:00 on July 24 from Bestebu, a private cabin on Store-Bleveien mountain road — one of the most intimate race starts in the DiscoverTrailRaces catalogue, sending runners into Norwegian summer twilight across the rocky fell plateau of Store-Ble. This is not a gradient race. At 8.5% distance-weighted average uphill gradient — rank 309 of 390 GPX-tracked courses in the DTR database — the challenge is sustained fell endurance, not technical steepness.
Two long climbs dominate: a 9.2km opener from the gun (472m, 5.1% avg) and a 10.5km climb at km 55 (527m, 5.0% avg) on tired legs. The descent profile mirrors the uphill almost exactly (-8.4% DW), ranking among the top 22% gentlest in the database. The 96km distance launched in 2025 with just 9 finishers — 2026 is only the second ever running, with no course records in the DTR database. Entry is 1,650 NOK (€1.53/km). Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) is 129 minutes to the nearest towns. It suits runners who want genuine discovery over a well-documented challenge.
