UltraŁemkowyna ŁUT 100: Poland's Carpathian Qualifier, Measured

UltraŁemkowyna 102 km — officially the Łemkowyna Trail 100 (ŁUT 100) — is a trail race held in October in the Beskid Niski mountains of southern Poland. The course covers 102 km with 3,300 m of gain (32.4 m/km) along the Main Beskid Trail (Główny Szlak Beskidzki) through remote Carpathian terrain: forested ridges, river valleys, and — in mid-October — beech forest at peak autumn colour. At 7.2% average uphill gradient and 25.6% flat terrain, ŁUT 100 is one of the more runnable mountain 100kms in Europe.

The UltraŁemkowyna course is deceptive. The biggest single climb is 364 m over 6.6 km at 5.5% average — modest on paper — but all three of the hardest climbs land between km 60 and 78. Wet October conditions in Beskid Niski are routine; multiple editions have reduced forest paths to knee-deep mud. Entry costs €1.08/km — one of the most affordable UTMB 100K qualifiers in Europe. The closest airport is Kraków (KRK), 2.5–3 hours by road.

Founded in 2016, UltraŁemkowyna draws around 132 finishers at the ŁUT 100 distance. It suits experienced trail runners who want a remote Carpathian autumn traverse, UTMB 100K Series points, and wild terrain at a modest entry cost.
